Virtually any bookstore or online bookstore can sell you any of our books. Some carry them in stock, some order from their own suppliers.

Here's the way it works:

There are two huge warehousing companies, Ingram and Baker and Taylor. Nearly every book store and library in the US buys from one or both of these sources. They both publish CD's that list all the titles they carry. So any store or online seller with an account at one of those huge suppliers lists every single title on the CD. Then, if you order a book from them, they order it from their supplier.

We sell to Ingram, so nearly every store in the country and every online store in the world can sell you one of our titles. Because we had trouble getting paid, we stopped selling to Baker and Taylor. Libraries especially like to buy from Baker and Taylor, so this has probably hurt our library sales and we hope we can patch things up with them.

We also sell to a number of other distributors. One way or another, bookstores can get our books. We will even sell directly to bookstores, but this is often a hassle for them unless you buy dozens of copies. Therefore, we encourage you to order dozens of copies, just to make their lives easier.

So, the short answer is, you can buy our titles from nearly any store in the country. Just ask them.

We sell directly to Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com, so we have a special fondness for those two. Every chain store can get our books, and we love them all, Borders, Book a Million, Hastings, Waldenbooks, etc, but Barnes and Noble has been especially kind and helpful to us.

We also like all the independent bookstores. The Tattered Cover in Denver bought the first five copies of our first book, so we will always have a fondness for them. Realistically, it's much harder and more of a gamble for a small independent store to risk shelf space on titles by obscure publishers like Clearwater. Many people like to support independent stores because they represent the small local marketplace. We applaud that. They can order our books as well, but are less likely to have them sitting on the shelf waiting for you. Nothing wrong with that, it's the price we all pay to support hometown businesses.

Costco and Walmart have our titles listed in their online catalogs because they buy them from Ingram. We have never gotten them interested in our titles to stock in their stores. This is a case of desperately wanting to sell out, but finding no buyers.

If you'd like your copies signed by our authors, the easy way is to order directly from us. We don't take credit cards, but we take checks. Just fill out our order form, attach a check, and mail it to us.
