This gives you a sense of how far you'd have to walk to go fishing. That's a glimpse of the Coquille River to the left. This property has a half mile of frontage on the Coquille, which enters the ocean at Bullards Beach, one of the neatest beaches and campgrounds anywhere. Blackberry bushes grow like weeds in this area, and you can see how they managed to grow right over the old shed and help pull it and the ham radio antenna down. Blackberries can be a pest, but their fruit is nearly as big as a bumble bee and wonderfully sweet. Just behind and to the left of the photographer is an old orchard of white apple trees, which are among the most flavorful of any variety you'll ever eat. Only a few of the trees survive, but they still produce a lot of juicy white apples. There are also three young apple trees. |
