I've always liked this song, but you don't hear it very often. It was on one of his early record albums with Garfunkle. For you younger folks, "record albums" is what we used to call CDs back when they were bigger than dinner plates and black and the players were not portable. No one had a record player in their SUV.

For you even younger folks, "CD players" are devices we used to play music on before I-Pods. Ask your mom, she'll remember.

I sing this in a lower key than he performed it.

I’ve written hundreds of songs and am learning how to record them in GarageBand on my Mac, but as I experiment, I’m also doing songs by other people. I’m using this to experiment with posting music on the web, mostly because it was the song that came into my brain while the microphone was in front of me and the computer was running. I panicked because I was afraid it would run out of tape if I didn't sing something pretty soon.

"Tape" is what we used to record onto before computers took over that job.

I don’t think Paul will mind that I sing it here, because I’m not charging anyone to listen, but if I need to start sending him money, I sure will. And obviously, if he gets in a financial pinch, I’ll sure loan him a few bucks to help get him back on his feet. If that’s not enough, to be fair, I’ll let him include one of my songs on his next album.

It seems like the least I can do.
